Derek Thompson is not only an experienced salon stylist, but he has also previously worked as a session stylist for over 20 years, shooting for London's top publications including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Tatler. Derek is currently based in New York but flies in regularly to ensure that his loyal fans are kept well coiffed. Over his career he has built up quite a remarkable fan base, counting London's social elite and royalty amongst them.

His specialty is cutting long hair, finding that he just has a natural way with it. The Scottish lilt to his voice and his calm approach at once puts you at ease. He is not the demanding diva you would expect from such an accomplished stylist; he is rather a laid back professional, extremely competent in hairdressing with an eye for creativity.

Derek's philosophy on hair is to ‘just keep it simple'. From someone who has enjoyed such a successful career in hairdressing, and still continues to demand a long waiting list during his much anticipated London visits, it does make you wonder if there is a little more to it than that.
